Michael passed away last night at 5:00 PM at Sutter
General Hospital in downtown Sacramento. A number of family members including
myself, Elizabeth, Tatsuya, his mother Mary, his sisters Terrie and Toni, his
cousin Cindy and his brother-in-law Virgil had all spontaneously met for a visit
and spent a good portion of the afternoon with him. Though he appeared to be
asleep, his intermittent responses let us know he could still hear us. Within
the hour of their leaving, I believe Michael felt the time was right; he chose
it and it was painless and quiet and peaceful. And it was just the two of us.
Love, for now, Linda Carbone.
